On Mathew 5:5 and reconsidering what it means. What is it to be meek? Mathew 5:5 is one of the few passages modern people have bothered to learn by heart. It reads: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.” But what is meekness? A popular modern interpretation would have us believe that meek = pacifistic. But in Numbers 12:3 Moses is also described as being meek — and Moses certainly was no pacifist. Lamentations 5:2–4: Will We Be Replaced? There are many here among us who feel as though they are orphans in our own land. Why? Are we not among the lands of our fathers? Lamentations 5:2 “Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to aliens.” Our fathers maintained a goodly portion of what was inherited to them from their fathers — so, where is it?
